ABOUT E DISC - HOW IT BENEFITS YOUR TEAM

What is E Disc?

Use behavioural profiling  (EDisc) to understand your people’s strengths, development areas, what motivates and de-motives them.

The analysis report clearly shows how individuals prefer to be communicated to and how they prefer to communicate. Understanding a team members personality and behavioural strengths helps build happy and committed team members. Using the psychometric DISC assessments will identify these areas and possible issues or workplace stresses.

CORE ASSESSMENT - MOTIVATORS

Career,Success

Identify Motivational Styles

Measuring The Core of Motivation

Just as the DISC assessment gives insight into “how” someone will behave, the Motivators assessment explains “why.” Motivators are the reasons we want to act. They help people to better understand their value hierarchy or belief system. They filter and guide decisions specifically toward the results that reflect them, and they combine uniquely for each person to influence priorities and decision making. Motivators reveal our viewpoint, our mindset, and our paradigm of thought.

Research shows successful people share a common trait of self-awareness and an awareness of those around them. Through building a greater understanding of the motivator dimensions in general, it becomes easier to see how they influence and guide behaviors to move people forward or keep them still.

Learn What Motivates People

The Motivators assessment offers an in-depth identification and exploration of seven dimensions and how they uniquely combine to influence behavior, decision and actions:

  • Aesthetic is a drive for balance, harmony and form.
  • Economic is a drive for return on investment (including time, money, resources).
  • Individualistic is a drive to stand out as independent and unique.
  • Power is a drive to be in control or have influence.
  • Altruistic is a drive to help others at the expense of self.
  • Regulatory is a drive to establish order, routine and structure.
  • Theoretical is the drive for knowledge, learning and understanding.

CORE ASSESSMENT - EMOTIONAL INTELLEGENCE

Identify Emotional IQ Styles

Emotional Intelligence Assessment

Emotional Intelligence is all about understanding and managing yourself and also understanding and managing others. It is based on an internal loop that begins with awareness of our own emotions and temperament. It continues on through self-understanding and moves towards discipline and management of the self. It then repeats these steps by connecting to the emotions of others to build more effective relationships.

Emotional Intelligence is a way of recognising, understanding, and choosing how we think, feel, respond and act. It is based on two competencies, measured as Recognition and Management:

  • the ability to recognise, understand, and manage emotions (self or intrapersonal)
  • the ability to recognise, empathize, and relate appropriately to the emotions of others (social or interpersonal)

Emotional Intelligence for Professional Success

This assessment measures and provides insight into four areas of EIQ and the five sub-categories that contribute to each area:

  • Self-Recognition (SeR): Self-Awareness/Understanding Cause & Effect; Self-Appreciation, Consciousness/Assertiveness; Emotional Identification
  • Social Recognition (SoR): Empathy, Sensitivity, Appreciation; Service, Compassion, Benevolence; Holistic Communication; Situational Perceptual Awareness; Interpersonal Development
  • Self-Management (SeM): Self-Control, Discipline; Goal-Directed Performance, Action; Integrity, Trustworthiness; Motivation, Positive Psychology; Creativity, Agility, Flexibility
  • Social Management (SoM): Developing Relationships; Leadership & Influence; Change Catalyst & Response; Negotiation & Conflict Management; Teamwork & Collaboration

CORE ASSESSMENT - THINKING STYLES

Identifying Thinking Styles

Measuring Critical Thinking with Hartman Value Profile (HVP)

Based on the work of Dr. Robert S. Hartman and Wayne Carpenter, the Critical Thinking assessment measures one’s capacity to make judgments about the world and one’s self according to our personal level of understanding (Clarity) and how much importance we place on it (Attention/Bias). People who score well in Critical Thinking also rate high in analysis, problem solving skills, overall job knowledge and performance. Weakness in our judgment opens up the risk for poor decisions which can lead to poor performance. When we understand potential limitations and blind spots, we can intentionally account for them to make balanced, conscious decisions.

Our ability to think critically and make sound, balanced judgments occurs subconsciously; it is fascinating that our brain is making decisions before we even consciously make them! Before any action can take place, our thoughts are subject to different biases in our judgment and are affected by our behavioral style, Emotional Intelligence, training and skills practice, reasoning ability and more.

Measure Critical Thinking

This assessment measures and provides insight into our Thinking Style, made up of 2 key areas - Critical Processing Patterns and Thinking Strengths & Abilities:

Critical Processing Patterns are evaluated in:

  • Intuitive Thinking: The ability to see, understand and appreciate the uniqueness in others and in situations, having a gut instinct.
  • Practical Thinking: The ability to see, understand and compare the functional worth of things and the short-term outcomes of a situation or event.
  • Systems/Conceptual Thinking: The ability to see understand and appreciate the need for order, structure, standards and big picture thinking.

CORE ASSESSMENT - LEARNING STYLES

Identify Learning Styles

Measuring Learning Styles

The Learning Styles questionnaire was developed after extensive research into how people prefer to engage in learning. It aims to help each person understand their own learning style as well as consider the style preferences of others as they share information and help others learn. We are all teachers sometimes, and this model is used for both our individual learning, and facilitating learning with others. The self-scoring instrument uses 40 pairs of questions to help you develop a personal learning styles profile and determine your own best strategies for learning effectiveness.

The Learning Styles assessment reveals where our general preferences, or natural learning biases, might lie. Although this is far from an exact science, the more we can understand about how we receive, retain, and recall new information, the more intentional we can be in setting ourselves up for success in learning transfer.

A Unique Blend of Learning

This assessment measures and provides insight into our Learning Style preferences, made up of 4 steps in the Learning Cycle with sub-categories to further explain our unique blend of learning:

  • Step 1: Attending: Motivation to Learn, our commitment and concentration given to new information Telescopic and Wide-angled
  • Step 2: Translating: Making Information Meaningful, who we rely on most to manage our learning transfer Dependent, Collaborative and Autonomous
  • Step 3: Relating: Linking Data to Existing Knowledge, evaluating our perception of information and data Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic
  • Step 4: Understanding: Using and Applying the Knowledge, how we synthesis and use the information we receive Global and Analytical
